Goals are usually set Yearly at the Beginning of a New Year, however Goals can be set Daily, Weekly and/or Monthly. Setting Goals is more than a 'Resolution', it's a Strategic Plan to steer our lives in the direction we want to go and who we want to be.
Planning Goals, is an opportune time to reflect on our Aspirations and what we want to Achieve. By setting Purposeful and Meaningful Goals, they can help Propel us towards Growth and Fulfillment.
Here's a Guide on how to set Goals for Success and Transformation:
1. Reflection :
Before diving into New Goals, take time to reflect on past Achievements you've Accomplished, Challenges that you have overcome, and Lessons Learned. Consider what worked well and what you'd like to improve upon. This Reflection lays the foundation for setting more Purposeful Goals.
Example: Reflect on Achievements like completing a Fitness Challenge or Learning a New Skill. Note areas in which you could Improve on such as, Healthier Eating Habits or Better Time Management, and set your Goals accordingly.
2. Core Values :
Identify your Core Values and Envision how they align with your Aspirations. Envision the Goals you want to Accomplish. See in your MIND's eye, the Process, the Commitment and the End Result. Consider areas such as MINDset, FUELstyle, Personal Development, Relationships, Career, Finances, Hobbies and Overall Health and Wellness.
Example: If Health is a Core Value, your Vision might involve a more Balanced LIFEstyle with Regular Exercise, Improved FUELstyle and Nutrition, Positive MINDset and Self-Love.
3. SMART :
Create SMART Goals -
Specific: Clearly define what you want to Accomplish.
Example: Instead of "Exercise More," Specify, "I jog for 30 minutes three times a week."
Measurable: Establish metrics to track progress.
Example: Instead of "Read More", make it more Measurable with "I read 20 pages of a book each day"
Achievable: Ensure your Goals are Realistic and within reach. They should Challenge you and be Attainable.
Example: Instead of "Earn More Money", make it Challenging yet Achieveable with "I Earn $10K every month".
Relevant: Align your Goals to be significant to your Overall Aspirations.
Example: Instead of "Healthier LIFEstyle", be Purposeful with "I do not Drink Alcohol"
Time-bound: Set a Timeframe for Achieving each Goal.
Example: Instead of "Finish my Course", be Time Specific with "I complete my Online Course by (date) ________."
4. Steps :
Break down Larger Goals into Smaller, Manageable Steps. This makes them less overwhelming and more Achievable. Create a step-by-step Plan to reach each Goal.
Example: If your Goal is to Move towards a fully Plant Based FUELstyle, Actionable Steps could involve enrolling in a RAW Plant Based Course, Creating New RAWcipes weekly, and Gradually transitioning to fully Plant Based FUELstyle.
5. Write :
Document your Goals in a Clear and Positive format. Use a Journal, Notebook, Digital Planner, or Goal-setting App to record you Objectives. Writing them down increases Commitment and Accountability.
Example: If your Goal is to be more Calm and Centered before you start your day, you may Write your Goal like this: "I Practice Meditation 10 minutes every Morning".
6. Track :
Regularly Monitor your Progress against your Goals. Use a Checklist, or Progress Tracker to stay Accountable. Periodically ReAssess and Re-Adjust Goals or Action Steps in order to Stay On-Track towards your Goals.
7. Share :
Share your Goals with a Like-MINDed Friend, a Mentor, Coach or even an On-Line Community for Support and Accountability. Regular Check-ins or Discussions about your Progress can provide Motivation and Guidance
