What are GMO's?
G.M.O. or GMO stands for GENETICALLY MOTIFIED ORGANISM
These Organisms have their Genetic material Artificially Altered in Laboratories through Genetic Engineering Techniques.
Scientists Manipulate these Organisms in order to Create and Introduce New Traits or Characteristics into the Organism that are not Naturally occurring.
GMO Foods are 'Foods' that have been Altered at the Gene Level and have been Treated with Antibiotics, Synthetic Chemicals and Hormones.

How did GMO's Start?
GMO Technology emerged in the 1970s as a Result of Advances in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering.
Initially, GMOs were developed with the 'intention' of increasing Crop Yields, improving 'Resistance' to Pests and 'Diseases', and Enhancing 'Nutritional' content.
It wasn’t until the early 1980’s that GMO’s were introduced into the Mainstream Public Conventional Grocery Markets.
Today GMO's Foods are Found in almost Every Grocery Store.
In reality, this ‘Food’ is still being created in a Laboratory by taking Genes (DNA) from one Species and Cross-Breeding, or Transferring them into those of an entirely Different Species.
Does this sound at all how GOD intended our Food to be?
Government Role in GMO's
GMOs were seen as a 'Solution to Food Security and Farming Efficiency Challenges'.
This brand new 'Gene Manipulation Technology', was passed by the Government Safety and Environmental Impact Assessments, because of the Agricultural Industry's desire for more Efficient Production Methods, and a need for Affordable and Diverse Food Product.
This in turn, paved the way for their incorporation into a wide range of Agricultural Products and Processed Foods, leading to their widespread presence in Conventional Grocery Stores and Markets around the World.
There is so much information about GMO’s and the Leading Consumer Advocate, promoting Healthier NON-GMO Choices, is Jeffrey Smith. If you want to know more, Read his books “Seeds of Deception” and “Genetic Roulette”. They are heart wrenching and eye opening at the same time.
The Environmental Protection Agency, part of the Government does not ban Harmful Toxic Pesticides, which are putting Bees🐝at risk for Extinction.
There are concerns about the Economic implications of GMOs, particularly the control of the Global Food Supply by a few large Corporations such as 'Bayer', that own the patents for GMO Seeds.
Farmers' rights and practices are impacted because of this Monopoly over Seed Patents and Farming Practices.

Manipulating Nature
It takes a Natural Salmon three years to come to Market. It takes half that time, approximately 16-18 months for a GMO Salmon to come to Market.
GMO Salmon are InHumanly Farmed in the most Cramped and Cruel conditions, and do not have the space to Swim, nor Spawn as Natural Salmon do in Rivers.

"The Government of Canada has determined that the Genetically Modified AquaAdvantage Salmon is as Safe and Nutritious for Humans and Livestock as conventional salmon." AquaAdvantage is a US Biotechnology Company.

Health Effects from GMO's
The Largest GMO Company is 'Monsanto' owned by the Pharmaceutical Company 'Bayer'. They say that GMO's are Safe for Human Consumption, however do not mention if they are Safe for Insects or Animals?
Spraying Chemicals, Toxins, Herbicides (Glyphosate - classified as a probable Human Carcinogen.

There are many Notable Health risks such as Allegoric Reactions, Antibiotic Resistance, Tumors and 'Unintended' Harm to Humans, Insects and Animals through GMO Consumption.
There is a Huge Environmental impact of GMO Crops on Insects, such as Pollinators (Bees🐝), and on the Overall Biodiversity of Ecosystems.
The Animals that are being fed GMO Crops are becoming ill and their Meat and By-Products, are being sold for Human Consumption.

Impact of GMO's
GMO Crops can have unforeseen impacts on the Environment, such as the potential for Cross-Pollination with Non-GMO Plants, and the Development of "SuperWeeds" Resistant to Herbicides.
Some GMOs are Engineered to be Herbicide-resistant, which can lead to increased Herbicide use and Potential Environmental Contamination.
This ultimately diminishes Agricultural Biodiversity, making Ecosystems and Food Supplies more vulnerable to Pests, Diseases, and Climate Change.

The Roundup Ready Trait, a trait bred into Soy, Corn and Cotton Plants, Allows Farmers to Spray the Glyphosate-Based Herbicide Roundup for Weed Prevention without Killing the Crop itself, is one of the most Widespread Traits.
Please do NOT use ROUNDUP to get Rid of Weeds. Use HOT Water, Salt, Mulch if you must, or simply, pull them out.

Several Countries had either Bans or significant Restrictions on GMO Farming and the Sale of GMO products.
NOTE: GMO Bans can Change at any time.

Austria: Has bans on the cultivation of GMO crops.
Bulgaria: Bans GMO cultivation and has strict regulations on GMOs.
Cyprus: No GMO crops are cultivated.
Denmark: Has restrictions on GMO cultivation.
France: Bans the cultivation of GMO crops, citing environmental concerns.
Germany: Allows some research but has restrictions on GMO cultivation.
Greece: Bans GMO crops and has strict labeling requirements.
Hungary: Has a ban on GMO cultivation.
India: Permits some GMO cotton cultivation but has restrictions on GMO food crops.
Italy: Bans GMO cultivation and has strict labeling requirements for GMO foods.
Japan: No GMO cultivation; however, it imports GMO crops and has strict labeling standards.
Luxembourg: No GMO cultivation.
Malta: No GMO cultivation.
Netherlands: Allows research but has strict regulations on cultivation and sale.
New Zealand: No GMO crops, with stringent controls and labeling requirements.
Peru: Enacted a law banning GMO crops and seeds for a 10-year moratorium, which has been extended.
Poland: Bans GMO cultivation.
Russia: Has imposed bans on GMO cultivation and imports, with strict labeling rules.
Slovenia: Has restrictions on GMO cultivation.
Switzerland: Has bans on GMO cultivation through a moratorium extended multiple times.

As consumers, there are several actions we can take to make informed choices about GMOs:
1. Educate ourselves about GMOs and their potential Risks.
2. Read Books like 'Seeds of Deception' and 'Genetic Roulette', written by Jeff Smith, a Spokesperson on the Health risks of GMOs.
3. Support transparency in Food Labeling to enable consumers to identify GMO-containing products.
4. Vote against GMO's by purchasing 100% Organic Food. When you spend your Money on Organic Food, that is Your Vote against GMO!
5. Buy NON-GMO by Looking for "Non-GMO Project Verified” label on Product Packaging.
