Tips and Tricks to Keep-on-your-Healthy-Track during the Holidays. 

With the Holiday Season fast approaching, now is the time to think about choosing Healthier Food Choices.

Everything is easier when you know what to do, and how to Stay on Track, especially when you are going out as there are so many Colourful and Tempting Food Options. Staying Home and Entertaining gives you more control over your FUEL choices.

Let's jump into Tips for Entertaining at Home and for Going out to help you Stay-on-your-Healthy-Track.

5 Tips when Entertaining at Home to Stay-on-Track :

Make sure to tell your Guests that you are preparing RAW Plant Based FUEL for your Party, which means no cooked food.  Let them know that if they would like to bring a dish, to make sure it's Plant Based. Offer to let them know your Menu.  Depending on your Guests, this just might be their first introduction to RAW Plant Based / Vegan FUEL.  ​

  • ​​​Create Vibrant Platters:  Prepare visually appealing Platters filled with an assortment of colorful Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, Seeds, and RAW Dips. Display these beautifully arranged Platters as the centerpiece, offering an array of Textures, Flavors, and Nutrients that cater to various tastes.
  • Inventive Appetizers:  Offer interesting RAW Appetizers like Stuffed Mushrooms, Veggie Sushi Rolls (with Cauliflower Rice) with a Non-Soya Sauce,  Zucchini or Cucumber Cups filled with Savory Dip, and/or a RAW Cheeze and Cracker Platter.
  • Signature Raw Mocktails: Prepare Refreshing Beverages like Fruit-infused Waters, Cold-Pressed Juices, Smoothies and Mocktails using Fresh Herbs, Fruits, and Sparkling Water.  Add Fruit as Garnish and put into Fancy Glasses.
  • Indulge in Raw Desserts: Surprise your guests with decadent RAW Desserts such as Fruit-based Sorbets, Cheesecakes, Energy Balls or Bars, Chocolate Bark and/or a colourful Holiday Fruit Tree (below). 
  • Interactive FUEL Stations: Set up FUEL stations such as build-your-own Salad Bars, Taco or Green Wrap Stations with Lettuce or Collard Leaves, and/or a make-your-own Smoothie Bowl Station with an assortment of toppings. This encourages engagement and allows your Guests to Create, Customize and have Fun Learning!

5 Tips when Going Out to Stay-on-Track :

  • ​Eat a Healthy Meal, Drink ​a Smoothie or GREEN Drink before going to an Event or Party. By filling up on your own FUEL, it will help stop your desire to eat unhealthy, cooked or fried foods.
  • If you know the Event or Party you are going to, contact the Food Co-Coordinator ahead of time and tell them you eat RAW Plant Based / RAW Vegan Food (explain if you have to), and ask if there will be any non-cooked Vegan options available.
  • ​​​If you are going to a House Party, offer to bring a dish. If the food choices at the Party aren’t Healthy ones, then at least you can eat what you brought!
  • ​If going to a Restaurant, check out the Menu before hand and pick your options (and stick to them),  or if it's a Buffet-Style​, check out the Food Table for Healthy RAW Vegan Food options and load up on those.
  • ​Bring your own Spring Water wherever you go.  If you run out, ask for ​Spring Water, and keep drinking it as it will fill you up and keep full.

Better to know what your options are ahead of time and to be Prepared, then arrive Hungry with no Healthy Choices to eat.

These strategies will set you up for Success so you can Stay On Track!

How to respond to Questions

When people notice you are Eating Different to them, they ask a lot of Questions.
Here are some common Questions you might be asked and some Suggested Answers:

What do you mean you don’t eat cooked food? (Astonished)

I wanted more Energy, a Vibrant and Healthier Life, to Release some Weight and to Look Younger!
I’ve accomplished all of those things through a RAW Plant Based FUELsyle.

If you don't eat cooked Food, What the heck do you eat? (Bewildered)

Did you know, I can eat as much as I want and never gain a pound!
You’d be surprised just what you can make from Nuts and Seeds along with Fruits, Veggies and Superfoods.
By they way have you heard of Nice Cream?
All you need is Ice, Frozen RAW Bananas, a Date and a Blender and you can make Nice Cream.
You'd love it!

No Dairy? At All? (Shocked)

I make my Mylks, Yogurts and Cheezes out of RAW Plant Based FUEL such as Nuts, Fruits and Irish Moss.

It’s RAWlicious and so Easy to make.

Imagine that!

Why aren’t you eating anything? (Disbelief)

Oh, I ate before I came, so now, I can just enjoy everyone’s company – like I’m enjoying yours right now.
If they push, then continue with:
I only eat RAW uncooked Foods and really don’t want to sway from the Healthy commitment I made to myself.
And besides, there aren’t any choices here for me to make, unless you’ve seen a Salad somewhere?

Where do you get your Protein from if you don’t eat meat? (Puzzled)

Did you know that Plants have Protein. 
Well actually, they have Amino Acids which turns into Protein in our Bodies.
If they press you, you could offer this information:
Where do you think the largest land Animals on the Planet get their Protein from?
Plants!
Yup!
Elephants, Gorillas, Panda Bears, Rhinos all get their muscles by chewing the Plants, which breaks open the Amino Acids in the Plant and after it's swallowed, eventually turns into Protein in the body.
I use a High Speed Blender to do the chewing for me.

Arm yourself with these Tips and Tools (answers), and set out Enjoying what’s really important this and Every Holiday Season – Friends, Family and Loved Ones.

There are temptations everywhere, and if you slip slide down that slippery slope, do not beat yourself up.
Just pick yourself up, and start walking back up to the top of that Healthy hill and grab a Celery Stick along the way up LOL.

If I go to a House Party, I bring a SuperFUEL Salad!  Great thing about a Salad, no one will question it, and most people won’t eat it, so that leaves lots for you!

Fun and Healthy RAW Plant Based Dessert

Here’s a quick and easy Dessert Tree that I like to make out of RAW Fruit.
It’s Fun, Healthy and usually a Hit at any House Party.

  • ​Wash and cut off the top and bottom of a Large Apple so both ends are both flat.
  • ​Core the apple to the exact size o​f a Large washed and peeled Carrot and insert into the top of the Apple.
  • Insert Long Skewers into the Apple and Carrot starting at the bottom and tapering the length of the skewers on the way up.  Cut the Skewers to reducing size as you head to the top.
  • ​Let your imagine be creative.
  • ​Use Cookie cutters to cut out Fruit Shapes, Melon Baller for balls to add some variety and fun.
  • ​Always use Fresh, RAW and Organic Fruit.
  • ​Choose from Cantaloupe, Grapes, Kiwi (you can eat the skin), Strawberries, Pineapple, Blueberries, Watermelon, or whatever Fruits you want.
  • ​Don’t use ​Bananas as they brown very quickly once peeled.
