How to ST🛑P Binging During the H🍩LIDAYS

Most people Gain 1-10 pounds over the Holidays from Binge Eating and Drinking!

The Holidays can be a Time of Temptation and, a Time when Rational Thinking can go out the Window!

In order to STOP Holiday Eating and Drinking OverLoad, (when we Pile our Plates High with Cookies, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes and Pie), we must SHIFT our MINDset by Changing Our Thoughts.

What we THINK and HOW we THINK about something, is so important.

It's about SHIFTing our Thoughts from Thoughts we are having in the Present Moment and Instant Gratification, to EmPOWERing Thoughts that will serve us in our Future Gratification.

For Example a Present Thought (Instant Gratification) can look like this:
"that Cookie was so Delish, I'm going to have just one more"

A Future Thought (Future Gratification) that will EmPOWER us can look like this:
"I'm glad I tried that Cookie and that's all I want, because, I have a Weight Goal I am Focused on Attaining" OR,
"Gosh that Cookie Looks Delish, but No Thank You because I have a Weight Goal I am Focused on Attaining". 

We need to be Vigilant with our Thoughts in order to STOP BINGing - whether over the Holidays, or anytime.  And we must STOP Negotiating with ourselves because, we will always Lose and Cave into Cravings! 

Why we Bing Eat and Drink is important, however we need to Learn HOW to STOP doing this by Changing a few things around.  We must Learn How to set ourselves up for Controlled Eating and Drinking BEFORE Heading into a Food Coma and a Whole Internal Dialogue of Guilt and Shame.

Let’s Brake this BINGing Cycle this Holiday Season and Here's 5 Tips on How to Do that!

🧃TIP #1. Let’s Not Arrive Starving!

Most of us have had those THOUGHTs of convincing ourselves to SKIP Eating to "Save Room" for the BIG Holiday Dinner. Yet, we arrive at a Party or Event we're Famished, our THOUGHTs now Scream at us - EAT EVERYTHING! 

IF we don't start Controlling our THOUGHTs about Healthy Eating Beforehand, as well as, Checking in with our THOUGHTs throughout the Entire Night Out, then we Take our Hands off the Wheel, and Havoc Happens.

Rather than Arriving Ravenous and Out-of-Control, this Simple Tip can save us Extra Pounds and Heavy Abuse-Hitting Thoughts Afterwards.

By Simply Eating a Light yet Healthy Meal, Drinking a Smoothie or GREEN Drink BEFORE a few hours heading out, it allows us to FEEL Full by the time we get to the Party, Calms our MIND out of Panic Food Mode so we don't Lose our MINDs over the Abundant Food Choices.

🌓TIP #2. Half Rule, Slow Chew & WAIT

This Tip is a Real Trick Tip to Prevent us from Over-Eating!  

When we SEE Enticing Food Choices, we tend to FILL our Plates.  Our EYES take Over, and we WANT IT ALL! 

So, by only Eating HALF of what we put on our Plates, we Naturally Reduce our Portion Sizes and, Trick our Brain at the same time! 

How?  Our MINDs will interpret the Full Plate as Satisfying and yet, by eating only Half, we Save on Calories and our Waistline!  It's a Win-Win!

IF we are going to have some Delights, let's Savour the Flavour, and Chew Slowly. 

Why?  Because it Triggers our Stomach to be Fuller Faster and therefore, want less Food.  Another Win-Win!

​And after we Finish HALF of our Plate, WAIT!  By Waiting just 10 minutes, the Urge for More, or Seconds or, Finishing the other Half on our Plate, will Pass and Contentment will overcome us.

🛒TIP #3. Eat & Then SHOP with a LIST

When we are Entertaining and in charge of Food and Drinks, we need to go Shopping!

The First Thing To Do is to make a List and the Second Thing is to Stick to the List!

​We then need to Refer to Tip #1 - Eat BEFORE heading to the Grocery Store.  This will Save us Money and Calories!

By Following our Grocery List, we are more likely to Stay on the Healthy Track and away from our EYES buying our Food.

💦TIP #4. DRINK H2O

Our Bodies are Highly Intelligent and yet, we often don't LISTEN to what our Bodies are Telling us.

Subtle Signs of Thirst will be Mis-Taken for Hunger. 

When our Mouth or Throat is Dry, or if we FEEL Sluggish, Dizzy or have a Headache, we are DeHydrated!

Taking Spring Water with us wherever we go, and Drinking it, will also cause our Stomachs to be Full and Help us Curb our Appetite.

Drinking Water - H2O is our Secret Weapon for Staying Energized, Glowing and AWAY from BINGing!

🤭TIP #5. NO MORE TALK-EATing

Eating and Talking at the same time, can lead to MINDless BINGE-EATING and DRINKING.

We Eat, Talk, Cough, Drink.  REPEAT.  

NOT.   A.   GOOD.    IDEA!

Eat when someone else is Talking.  Talk when someone else is Eating. 

Pretty Simple Concept, however, it takes Focus and being MINDful of NOT doing both at the same time.  MULTI-TASKing is NOT our Friend in this Situation.

When we Concentrate on Concentrating on What we are Eating, How Much and When, we start SHIFTing our MINDset in order to Control our FEELings which will otherwise, pretty much Run the BINGE Show.  

The Bottom Line

We’ve got this!  We just have to Keep Our MIND on Our THOUGHTS.

🔸 THINK about What Will Take Us Towards our Goals, Not Away from them.
🔸 THINK about Listening while Chewing Slowly and Savoring Every Bite.
🔸 THINK about Setting ourselves up for Success by Healthy Eating Ahead of Time.
🔸 THINK about Portion-Size and How it Equates with our Waistline.
🔸 THINK about Staying Hydrated for Health, Beauty and Weight.
🔸 THINK about Waiting a Few Minutes Before Grabbing something Else to Eat or Drink.

Let's THINK this Holiday Season.  About our Health, and our Goals.
